Itree announces the results of its research into product frameworks to develop its next generation products for Regulation…

Itree development teams completed their exhaustive evaluation of industry best practice and technologies for creating its next generation products and announce the following technologies as the best performers to deliver productivity and user experience requirements for Regulation.

Google Web Toolkit for high quality user interfaces that are also compatible with popular mobile devices.
Jboss Business Rules Management System (Drools) for business process modelling, workflow and rules. Drools elegantly integrates rules, BPMN workflows, and state driven workflows in a very powerful and flexible way. The embedded workflow engine has the sub millisecond performance required by some real time transport applications.

Spring source Code Generation Frameworks (Roo and Grails) for high productivity. A fully working skeleton application can be generated from the business domain model within minutes and project demonstration cycles are measured in days, not months.

Itree expands operation to the $34M Innovation Campus located in the Illawarra high technology corridor. Officially opened by the NSW Minister for Transport and the Illawarra the Hon. David Campbell MP in January 2009. The new head quarters at Innovation Campus provides scope to grow and expand the business to a 200 person operation.

Recent Press: “Itree an example to other start-ups”

(extract from the Illawarra Mercury)

“Itree provides a great example of what is possible in the Illawarra” according to University of Wollongong vice chancellor Professor Gerard Sutton.

Professor Sutton described Itree as “an agile and responsive company” and hoped that “its success would encourage other start-up companies in the Illawarra”.

The Minister for Transport and the Illawarra the Honourable David Campbell said he “was impressed by the company’s decision to develop its national headquarters in the city where it started, and that “80% of the staff were University of Wollongong graduates”.

Itree managing director David Pierce said “it was both unusual and an honour for a small company like Itree to have such large government customers.

“What we are doing differently to the major multinational IT companies? Firstly we are smaller and I think we are trying harder.
Secondly we have a culture that I think is uniquely Australian. It’s a company where anyone is able to have their voice heard and is able to make an effective contribution.”

Itree believes the University of Wollongong is one of the best centres for IT graduates in Australia and made the decision to move to iC Central when the $34 million facility was first announced back in 2007.

The new address of Itree in Wollongong is: Wing A, Level 1 iC Central, Squires Way, North Wollongong, NSW 2500.

Itree – a software development company with over 50 engineers, project managers and architects, operating since 1996 years is investing in the creation of a core product framework investigating the latest technologies and platforms upon to build its next generation regulation product suite…

Itree is undertaking an innovative and agile approach to creating a next generation product framework. The challenge involves a commited investment for two separate development teams to undertake investigation of the latest recognised software frameworks that would enable the creation of a Web 2.0 rich user interface in a web browser and allow for simple end user customisable workflows based on Business Process Management Notation.

The benchmarking of tools and solutions is aimed to ensure proven capability to deliver the best productivity, best customer user interface experience and ensure industry best practice. The best performing solutions have to facilitate rapid application and high quality development.

Key objectives of the new product suite is to provide rapid time to market, online services capability with a high degree of user configurability to satisfy a global view of Regulation.
