Itree awards prizes to outstanding students

Itree proudly sponsors three prizes annually at The University of Wollongong, Faculty of Informatics Prize Night. These prizes are for academic excellence in the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering, and demonstrate our ongoing support of students who achieve excellent results. Itree’s Prize for Java Programming was this year awarded to Zeyu Wang for achieving the highest mark in CSCI213 Java Programming and Applications.       

The Itree Prize for Database was shared by joint winners Jason Benger and Xiongfie Wu for achieving equal highest mark in CSCI235 Databases.      

Itree’s Prize for Enterprise Computing, was awarded to Oyvind Hoisather for achieving the highest mark in CSCI398 Introduction to Enterprise Computing. Jason and Oyvind  were unable to attend the evening, Oyvind having returned home after completing his studies as an international student.      

The Prize Presentation Ceremony was held on Thursday 12 May 2011, at the City Beach Function Centre, Wollongong. Professor Philip Ogunbona, Dean of Informatics, welcomed the prizewinners, guests, faculty members and sponsors to the ceremony. This was followed by the prize presentations, with prizes introduced by each Head of School.      

Frank Marzano, Itree’s Business Solutions Director, presented the prizes with Professor Philip Ogunbona to the Itree prizewinners. In all, the night saw prizes awarded to 67 students.      

Congratulations to all the prize winners for their exceptional results, especially Itree prizewinners Zeyu, Jason, Xiongfie and Oyvind. Well done.
